Save-the-Dates Coming Soon
I could put it off no longer. Save-the-date notices were long overdue. Danny has politely asked me about them everyday for the past 3 weeks so I decided to finally relieve him of his misery and bust them out. Finished them around 3am last night and ganged them up on a print job at work today. Whew! Now I have no excuse to put off dress shopping any longer. PS. Doesn't Danny looks adorable in this photo?!
My Urban Cowboy
Danny's brother Joe, sister-in-law Joy and their two kids (Noelle & Sal) were in town from Virgina for a few days. Danny & I were lucky enough to spend a few days with Joe & Joy at their cabin retreat in the White Mountains. It was great catching up with them as well as spending some time outdoors. Danny also made a new friend.

I THINK HE LIKES YOU, DANNY. "EASY BOY!"

THE HORSE KINDLY REFUSED DANNY'S ATTEMPTS TO JUMP ON HIS BACK .

I'm obsessed
I'm obsessing over color palates right now. Looking online... Pulling color chips... It's a sickness. I can't stop...

Accommodations
The reception will be held at the Hacienda Corona de Guavavi. It has 5 guest rooms and 3 casitas varying in size. We hope to have our immediate family stay with us at the Hacienda.
All Saturday night accommodations at the Hacienda will be paid for. If you're one of our immediate family members, please let us know whether or not you'd like to stay here additional nights. Room rates vary from $249-$199.
10 minutes away: Esplendor Resort
http://www.hhandr.com/esplendor.php
The closest resort to the Hacienda is the Esplendor Resort in Rio Rico. It sits on a hill overlooking the Santa Cruz Valley. There is an 18-hole golf course next door.
20 minutes away: Tubac
Tubac is a quaint little artist community with shopping and restaurants.
The Tubac Golf Resort is located about 1 mile north of town. Obviously there is a golf course attached to this resort, hence the name.

The Tubac Country Inn is located in the heart of Tubac.

I also just came across these properties online:

http://www.pocketsanctuary.com/index.htm
http://www.tubacembarcadero.com/index.html
http://www.tubacsecretgarden.com/index.html
We will be contacting the Esplendor Resort and Tubac Golf Resort to set aside a block of rooms. Hopefully there will be a discount for wedding guests.

Airports
I just wanted to write a quick note regarding airports in the vicinity. The Tucson airport is the closest airport to the ceremony and reception (Approximately 50 minutes). However, the Tucson airport is smaller so prices may be higher flying into this location.
Your other option would be to fly into Sky Harbor Airport in Phoenix. This airport is a lot larger and is most likely to have more flexibility in terms of pricing and flight schedules. Phoenix is approximately 3 hours north of the wedding site. It's a fairly easy (and a little boring) drive from Phoenix to Nogales. Please let Danny or I know if you're flying to Phoenix early. We'd love to pick you up from the airport and if our guest bedroom is available, you're more than welcome to crash.

Wedding Weekend Schedule--ROUGH
Okay, so I know a lot of you are little planners out there and would like some more insight into our wedding weekend. Honestly, I wish I had more insight into my wedding weekend. I haven't even started looking for a dress. Anyway, below is a rough schedule of events if you're wanting to book your airline tickets and accommodations...
My Wedding Weekend Itinary (rough):
NOTE: THIS ITINERARY IS IN IDEA PHASE ONLY. PLEASE DO NOT HOLD THE BRIDE TO ANYTHING SHE HAS WRITTEN BELOW AS SHE IS APT TO CHANGING HER MIND QUITE FREQUENTLY AND WITHOUT WARNING.
Wednesday, September, 30:
Phoenix: Last minute errands (like what-I have no idea), airport pick-ups for all of our die hard guests, and think I'll have time for a massage & facial???
Thursday, October 1st:
Drive from Phoenix to Hacienda Corona in the a.m. Wedding prep and rehearsal at church around 4pm. Dinner to follow.
Friday, October 2nd:
I would love this day to spend with family and friends. Perhaps an organized wine tour or maybe horseback ride? (Settle down, Mom.) Or maybe a little bonfire action that night? Hmmm... I'd love your suggestions!
Saturday, October 3rd:
Who is in charge of getting the groom to the church on time????
Ceremony at 3pm
Cocktails at 5:00pm
Dinner at 7:00pm
Dancing til Dawn =)
Hopefully, I'll have time to create a real wedding website with all of these details listed in a more user-friendly format at some point...
